Arête des Cosmiques – Aiguille du Midi

Arête des Cosmiques is one of the most beautiful and accessible alpine routes in the Mont Blanc massif. The route follows a sharp snow and rock ridge directly opposite the legendary Mont Blanc summit and starts from the Aiguille du Midi cable car station at 3,842 meters.

It is the perfect introduction to mountaineering in Chamonix: spectacular exposure, mixed terrain, rope work, crampons, and ice axe techniques — all in the atmosphere of true high altitude climbing.

Typical itinerary:

• meeting with the guide in Chamonix;
• ascent by the Aiguille du Midi cable car;
• equipment check and safety briefing;
• climb of Arête des Cosmiques;
• return to Chamonix.

Required equipment:
mountaineering boots, crampons, helmet, harness, ice axe, warm clothing, gloves, and sunglasses. Equipment rental is available in Chamonix if needed.
